YOGANANDA is based on two books. The first is Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda. Translated into 18 languages and beloved by millions of readers worldwide, this book, first published in 1946, is the best-selling spiritual autobiography of all time.

The second book, Paramhansa Yogananda: A Biography,  is an eye-witness account written by Swami Kriyananda, who came to Los Angeles in 1948 and became Yogananda's disciple. Swami Kriyananda is one of  the few living disciples of Yogananda and is the founder of 8 Ananda communities which now serve thousands of spiritual aspirants worldwide. He is the author of over 100 books and 400 pieces of music based on Yogananda's teachings. Paramhansa Yogananda: A Biography  has been launched in India in 2011, in Italy in March 2012 and in the US in June 2012.
